Commercial Locksmiths : Access Control
Securing any business premises is of the upmost importance but when you factor in the requirement to control access to certain areas then it can become very complicated, often resulting in staff having to carry multiple keys.
There are two possible solutions to this problem, door entry systems and master key systems.
Door Entry Systems
Managing large numbers of keys can be a major problem. Keys are easily lost or copied and employees often fail to return them on leaving employment, meaning that you can never be sure how secure your business premises are.
One solution to this problem is the installation of keyless mechanical or digital door security entry systems.
Mechanical keypads are simple to install and involve entering a PIN number that you can change as often as you like, ensuring that only authorised personnel can access a certain area.
Digital entry systems can be standalone or controlled from a central computer enabling you to document and audit access activity, add new employees, delete former employees and add/remove visitor access. These systems can be PIN or swipe card operated.
As a trading division of Guest Fire & Security we are a fully approved company with The National Security Inspectorate and are accredited under the NACOSS Gold scheme for design, installation and maintenance of electronic security systems, including intruder/burglar alarms, access control systems and CCTV Systems; as such we have many years experience in all types of access equipment from the small domestic single door entry systems with video picture to the large commercial office block systems requiring multi point/code entry (including MoD sites).
Master Key Systems
Master key systems are carefully planned key operated locking systems that allow a hierarchy of people access to certain doors defined by the owner/manager of the system while allowing themselves access to all doors through the use of a single key. Master key systems also provide additional security using extra pins within the cylinders to prevent picking.
One type of lock that is ideal for use with a master key system is the Mul-T-Lock. This ingenious innovation is one of the most secure types of lock and offers more anti-pick pins than typically found in other locks as well as being break secure and anti-drill. In addition, the keys can only be cut by a Mul-T-Lock dealer who will require the card issued when the locks were supplied. This means that staff, tenants or anyone that holds a key cannot simply have that key reproduced without your knowledge. They are extremely robust, can be re-pinned and new keys can be cut as required. Please click here to find out more about Mul-T-Lock.
Master Key systems can also be used with cylinder operated locks and mortice locks.
All our master key systems can be tailored to your specific needs; whatever the size of your premises or site we can find a solution that will meet your requirements.
